BALTHVS formed in 2020, when the Bogotá trio escaped the city to wait out the pandemic in the Colombian countryside — chasing music that could melt into the landscape around them. Six years later they've become one of Colombia's leading alternative exports: over 100 million streams, four albums and twelve EPs deep, with a live footprint spanning 94 cities across 26 countries and four continents.

At the center is guitarist and vocalist Balthazar Aguirre, a self-taught player who traded a career in law for music after a near-fatal rock climbing accident reset his sense of purpose. Alongside Johanna Mercuriana (bass, vocals) and Santiago Lizcano (drums, vocals), BALTHVS builds a genre-fluid sound that swirls psychedelia, funk, surf, disco, cumbia, Middle Eastern melody, and spiritual-jazz improvisation into something near-mystical — nostalgic and forward-looking at once, groove-driven and unmistakably their own. Known for relentless output, ever-changing setlists, and tracks often cut live in a single take, they've won over the jam circuit and the global-psych underground alike.

That reach has carried them to stages from Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands to Electric Forest, Lightning in a Bottle, SXSW Sydney, and the Montreal Jazz Festival, with praise from KEXP, BBC Radio, and Gilles Peterson's Worldwide FM. Their new album, Manifest, arrives October 7, 2026 on Mixto Records — the next chapter from a band carving out a singular space in global psychedelic music.
