After eighteen years holding down a legendary residency at LA's Seven Grand, Magulo is finally ready to give the world what the room already knew. The five-piece — guitarist Christian Wunderlich, trumpeter and keys player Gabe Steiner, bassist JP Maramba, drummer Vince Fossett, and saxophonist and bandleader Aaron Leibowitz (aka Ronny Sax) — is a collective of heavy hitters who've toured with some of the biggest names in music, but have always called Magulo home base.

Their sound is a live-wire melding of afrobeat, Ethiojazz, surf rock, Motown, and whatever else the moment demands — rooted in improvisation, built on trust, and tight as hell despite a name that translates from Tagalog to "disheveled, messy."

Their debut album Desert Drip, due Summer 2026 on Mixto Records, was captured in a single session in a Hollywood Hills living room steeped in musical history. Eleven tracks deep — from a reimagined Mulatu Astatke classic to Henry Mancini's "Lujon" to deep Funkadelic cuts — it's the definitive document of a band that's been quietly building something extraordinary for nearly two decades.
